Big Milpitas tech campus entices several new tenants

MILPITAS — A big tech park in Milpitas has signed leases with three tenants, in deals that signal interest by tech companies to return to the offices in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

McCarthy Center, a Milpitas tech campus, has landed three companies that together leased just under a combined 100,000 square feet, according to park owner Irvine Co.

Tech companies Corning Optical Communications, Rohde & Schwarz USA, and cPacket Networks signed leasing deals for offices at McCarthy Center, according to Irvine.

“McCarthy Center is a vibrant workplace community that helps innovative companies create a winning culture and contributes significantly to growth, success, and employee satisfaction,” said Todd Hedrick, a regional vice president with Irvine’s office operations.

Corning Optical leased a full building in the campus that totals 62,900 square feet. cPacket Networks rented 23,700 square feet. Rohde & Schwarz USA, leased 12,900 square feet. The companies are moving to 800 N. McCarthy Blvd.

“With its array of amenities, together with the high-performance network that uses our own technology, our new home at McCarthy Center will help us continue to attract and retain the region’s top talent,” said Kevin Parker, a senior vice president with Corning Optical Connectivity.
